- Blackstrap molasses, use to sweeten foods, rich in minerals
- Bounce snack balls – spirulina, premier protein, almond protein, fudge walnut, cashew & pecan
- Bragg’s Aminos – healthier version of soya sauce
- Canned organic tomatoes, tomato puree & passata
- Dried, organic whole grains such as brown basmati rice (Waitrose), kamat grain, barley
- Dried, organic, wholegrain pastas
- Dried, organic pulses such as aduki beans, flageolet beans, haricot beans, red lentils, yellow split peas (Waitrose Supermarket stock an excellent variety, as do good health food shops)
- Dried, organic popping corn
- Dried, organic herbs & spices (Waitrose stock a good variety)
- Furikake – sprinkle on top of rice, fish, vegetables
- Good quality protein powder such as Low-GL Get Up & Go
- Good quality anchovies and sardines in olive oil
- Lindt, Green and Blacks or any good quality 70% dark chocolate
- Herbal teas (Clipper, Dr Stuarts, Pukka, Loose green tea from Drury)
- Himalayan Sea Salt (Revital www.revital.co.uk)
- Maple syrup has a high mineral content (sugar / honey does not)
- Meridian organic nut butters, almond, cashew, hazelnut, peanut
- Nairn Oatcakes, especially the “rough” variety due to their low glycaemiac load
- Organic quinoa
- Organic, canned legumes & pulses
- Organic nuts and seeds (keep in fridge in glass jars to lengthen lifespan)

- A generous variety of fresh, organic, seasonal fruit and vegetables
- Feta cheese
- Fresh organic free-range eggs
- Fresh good quality, ideally organic, fish garlic, ginger root, coriander, parsley and any other seasonal herbs
- Ground almonds
- Humus
- Mixed antipasti (marinated vegetable in oil)
- Olives
- Organic, free-range chicken
- Organic cow / goat butter
- Organic goats milk & yogurt
- Organic nuts and seeds of all types (they go rancid if kept outside the fridge)
- Organic nut butters
- Tofu (soya beancurd) or Tempeh (fermented soya beancurd) ideally organic
If you live in North London try visiting the farmer’s market at Parliament Hill on saturday mornings (10am -2pm)
and sample the sourdough bread from Levain Bakery, and the Goat’s cheese which are both superb.
